Course content
Explanation of the main concepts: humanity, freedom, democracy, citizenship and civil society, politics. Historical development of the contents of basic philosophical and political categories. The Czech, European and World dimensions of citizenship issue. Selection of adequate methodological procedures.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subjekt is to provide students with basic knowledge of education for democracy and civil societyoand its theoretical background - philosophy, politoval science, history, social antropology, metodology. The main topics: Explanation of the main notions: humanity, freedom, democracy, citizenship, civil society, politics Historical development of the contents of the main philosophical and political notions Czech, European, and the World dimension of the problem of citizenship Choice of adequate teaching methods
Critical thinking in the area of citizenship using knowledge of the fundamentals of social sciences.
Prerequisites
Serious interest in the problems of social sciences.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Seminar thesis submission. An essay - own deliberation on an assigned topic, resulting from reading - min 5 standard pages.
