Course content
1) Terminological delimitation of notions 2) Description of gender problems in highly developed ancient cultures - Egypt, Greece, Rome, India 3) Gender in the main periods of the Middle Age, typical reactions of society with regard to gender 4) Gender and the questions of religion 5) Gender and education 6) Change of thinking in the Modern Age 7) Influence of the Industrial Revolution. Feminist movement 8) Changes in 20th century 9) Gender and two world wars 10) Gender in Czechoslovakia 1918-1992, in Czech Republic 1993-2000 and the main political events 11) Gender problems in 21st century civilization 12) Questions of human rights 13) Conclusion, assessment

Lecture, Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Assessment methods and criteria
Dialog, Seminar Work

Basic knowledge of historical events. Elaboration of papersdirected to topics according to the teacher´s instructions. Test of knowledge in the end of the seminary
