Course content
The course will introduce the basic principles and values of the social doctrine of the Church, the historical context of its development in relation to social encyclicals and the charity-diaconal mission of the Church. The course will focus on the following topics: - Old and New Testament bases of principles and values of social doctrine of the Church. - Relationship between the social doctrine of the Church (social ethics of the Church) and the charity practice of the Church. - The relationship between pastoral work and charity work. - Current challenges of the Church's social doctrine.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the basic principles and values of the social doctrine of the Church, the historical context of its development in relation to the social encyclicals and the charity-diaconal mission of the Church.
The student will know and understand the basic principles and values of the social doctrine of the Church, will be able to apply biblical bases of social ethics to current social problems and questions.

No special prerequisites are required for the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Completion of a written test from assigned topics.
