Learning outcomes
|
The course is intended both for people in positions of authority within the Church who work with vulnerable people (children and adults) and for lay people who come into contact with these authorities - because everyone needs to reflect on the issue of power, the risk of its abuse, and the particularly sensitive issue of sexual abuse.
Participants will increase their awareness of power dynamics and the risk of crossing relational and professional boundaries, gain a better and more comprehensive understanding of ethical dilemmas associated with (suspected) sexual abuse, and strengthen their readiness to support the adoption and implementation of effective safeguarding measures (not only) in church communities and institutions.
