Course content

Learning outcomes
The goal of discipline is to introduce students to the methods of qualitative and quantitative research of cultures, societies and populations, also with the interpretative methods of field research and the study of various types of empirical material. Discipline disseminates basic methods and techniques of research, with an emphasis on their practical application - in particular the selection and use of appropriate specific methods of field research.
After completing the course the student will be able to select an appropriate methodology to prepare the design and propose a research plan with its individual steps. Student knows and understands the differences between anthropological and sociological approach human exploration and demonstrate a working knowledge of methods of qualitative and quantitative research culture, society and population. Student can design and specify the basis for the framework defined task corresponding research methods to solve practical problems in anthropology at the application of expert knowledge and basic methods, he/she can propose and defend a specified field research project with regard to the foundations of ethics fieldwork.
Prerequisites
The ability to read and understand the text in English.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Seminar Work

Completion of the course is conditional reading of academic literature in the English language at the 100 ts and ts 150 in the Czech language, developing a research project 10 ns, project presentation.
