Learning outcomes
Students will extend the theoretical and practical knowledge of the English language, especially the language of academic discourse. The seminar will introduce students to the standards of academic writing in English, pointing to the differences between Czech and English scientific discourse. Reading comprehension and text analyses make part of the course.

Credit requirements: - active participation and submission of all homework assignments (max. 2 absences are allowed) - final test based on the topics discussed in the seminar
