Course content
1. Definition of the subject and methods of the discipline, clarification of the terms of its formation and development. 2. Terminological glossary. 3. Orientation in the basic anthropological literature and periodicals. 4. The possible subject fileds and areas of interest of cultural anthropology. 5. Working with the scientific texts. Procedures for criticism and interpretation. 6. Formalities of professional work, note system, bibliographical references, standard page. 7. Paper, report, review, analysis, professional essay, informative article.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to gain basic terminology of social sciences and its use in cultural and social anthropology (culture, enculturation, socialization, communication, cultural relativism, acculturation etc.). Students will be familiarized with the definition of anthropology as a general science of human being and with the problems of internal division into "sub-anthropology", the importance of the course will primarily lean on defining the cultural and social anthropology. We emphasize working with the scientific anthropological literature.
The aim of this course is to be familiarized with the definition of anthropology as a general science of human being. Students define subject and methods of anthropology, clarify the terms of formation and a development of anthropological sciences, they use terminological equipment of human sciences, analyze and critical evaluate scientific literature, orient themselves in a basic anthropological literature and periodicals, speak and write at an expert level.
