Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce some less known and nonconventional sports games in the Czech Republic (ringo, frisbee ultimate, intercross, squash, badminton, korfball, foot tennis) with an emphasis on various local game approaches and philosophy. The course presents an overview of historical origination of these games, development, regions of their application, rules and refereeing. Throughout the course the students practice basics game activities and thus create the conditions for practical use of these games for recreational purposes. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student is able to: - Demonstrate and teach basic skills in selected games; - In an interesting way outline the history of origination and explain the meaning and principle of various games; - Organize an attractive match, competition, tournament in these games; - Understand the equipment and materials used in these activities; - Use a range of training and game exercises for recreational purposes; - Eliminate health risks ensuing from recreational pursuit of these activities.

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit: active participation in seminars, presentation, theoretical knowledge test Presentation: The credit requirements include a written and practically delivered pedagogical presentation of each student. This presentation must include erudite explanation of the history, philosophy and rules of a selected game and a resourceful introductory and warm-up part of a lesson. Special instructions for presentation: Presentation topics will be assigned in the first semester lesson. Presentation dates will be announced one week in advance.
