Course content
1.Social role of education, objectives of education, basic educational theory terminology, factors of development of a human being. Educational process and its stages. Components of education. Role of a teacher, pupil, family and wider community in education. 2. Alternative approaches to educational process. Alternative schooling. Contemporary educational streams. Global education. 3. Education of free time. 4. School systems and educational theories in historical development. 5. Concept of education in works of notable thinkers. 6. Place of education in a democratic society.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Homework for Teaching - 10 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to summarize general issues related to pedagogy, its terminology and aspects. Problems in education and their possible solutions. Alternative methods applied to educational process. Develop creative thinking in students and creative attitude towards their future profession. Historical context in primary education and its personalities.
Students can focus on general education and history of education

Students elaborate on a paper of at least 4 standard pages, topic: Reflection of thoughts of a notable educational personality in contemporary school, or Contemporary approach to ... (choice of any educational issue corresponding with the character of the discipline).
