Course content
- Hardware and software, software licences - Computer viruses, spyware - Spam, hoax, chain emails - Passwords - Phishing, pharming, SCAM 419 - General principles of operating systems, detailed functioning of MS Windows - Maintenance and configuration of the operating system (registers, defragmentation, ...) - Data backup - Work with files and folders - MS Office Suite

Learning outcomes
Throughout the course the students learn the basics of working with personal computers PC IBM compatible with the MS Windows operating system. The course focuses primarily on the knowledge of securing a PC against abuse, configuration and optimisation of the operating system at a user level, basic operations with files and folders and the MS Office Suite programmes. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student has the following skills and knowledge to use a personal computer in a practical way: - Configuration and optimisation of the operating system at a user level - Securing a PC against abuse (including preventive work principles of the user) - Basic operations with files and folders - Use of basic programmes of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Prerequisites
The student does not require any previous knowledge or experience in the content of the course.

Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student, Seminar Work

- 80% participation in classes - Producing a short paper on a given topic, class presentation - Final verbal examination (form of dialogue) from the content of the course
