Course content
Defining concepts: charitable, philanthropic and humanitarian. History and contemporary charitable and humanitarian trend in Czech Republic and in abroad. Forms and principles of charitable and humanitarian activities. Fundamentals of ?management? of charitable and humanitarian activities. Organizations that provide charitable and humanitarian activities in Czech Republic and abroad. Summary of contemporary charitable and humanitarian activities in abroad.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
Before the completion this discipline students should be able to: describe the evolution and current condition of charitable, philanthropic and humanitarian tendency in society (in Czech Republic and in the world) determine spheres of activities of the most meaningful charitable and humanitarian organizations in Czech Republic describe and elucidate forms, ethical principles and legal elements of charitable and humanitarian activities demonstrate the importance of charitable and humanitarian activities in the social work, care and assistance describe and apply management strategies in these organizations
Students will be able to use after completing their theoretical knowledge and basic practical skills in the exercise of social and socio-educational work.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the principles of social pedagogy.

Essay, Student performance

To write essay about importance of charitable and humanitarian activities in social work. Analysis of management strategy in chosen charitable or humanitarian organization in Czech Republic.
