Course content
Gerontagogy - -senior citizens' education as a new social phenomenon. Senior citizens as a target group in education. Senior citizens, their lifestyle and social relations. Methodological aspects. Institutions and programmes educating senior citizens. Functions, group characteristics and problems of the specific educational sphere. Educational projects for seniors (U3A, free-time activities, self-education etc). Topical problems.

Learning outcomes
Students should be able to explain legitimacy of gerontagogy (theory of senior citizens' education ? of citizens who passed their productive life stage) as a part of adult education and to clarify the importance of senior citizens' education within life-long education. They also should be able to characterize senior citizens' education, to define senior citizen as a target group for education and specify factors conditioning development of this education; furthermore to concretize types of institutions and programmes of senior citizens' education, functions, specifications and problematic field of this educational area.
