Learning outcomes
The course History of European Union is a one-semester course designed for the third yeard students of the Department of Politics and European Studies. The aim of the course is the explanation of complex historical development of the process of European integration in the context of European history of given period and political developments of individual states.
The aim of the course History of European Union is to offer a complex understanding of European integration history, explanation of particular development phases, waves of enlargement, developments of European communitary politics and its deepening. The emphasis is also given to the study of single actors of the integration process - member states and domestic dimension of their integration efforts and European policies and also to the European institutions.
Prerequisites
Course History of European Union is designed especially for third year students of the Department of Politics and European Studies. Students enroled in the course are expected to have basic knowledge of European integration processes and European history (in a minimum range of a basic course Introduction into European Integration).

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

Course requirements: Presence (maximum of two absences are tolerated), knowledge of basic and supplementary literature, knowledge of seminar readings. Presentation in the framework of seminars blocks is a condition for receiving a course credit unit. The final grade is given based on the sucessfull accomplishment of an exam.
