Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the history of modern popular music (or jazz-influenced popular music) especially of the second half of the 20th century.
The student will be competent to reflect the history of music in its entirety, he/she will be able to discuss the changes in the aesthetics of music in the twentieth century, hence to discuss the transformations of the society of the historical phase in question.
Prerequisites
A general overview of the history of music, as well as basic knowledge of the cultural history of the twentieth century is expected. Moreover, knowledge of the history of modern popular music (jazz) of the first half of the twentieth century is also expected.
