Course content
Students will acquire the knowledge of musical forms of European music and methods of formal analysis. Tectonic issues of musical composition are also discussed. Themes covered: 1. Content and methods of Musical Forms 2. Music and its formal elements 3. Composition and its parts 4. Music tectonics 5. Musical ideas 6. Blocks of music 7. Tectonic functions of music 8. The period and irregular sentence form 9. Small two-part and three-part form 10. Large two-part and three-part form 11. Fugue 12. Variation 13. Sonata form 14. Rondo 15. Cyclical forms 16. Compound and free forms

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
