Course content
The course was developed within the project Innovative Teacher Education by Combining Theory with Practice (ITEP), Reg. No. CZ.02.3.68 / 0.0 / 0.0 / 16_038 / 0006522 and is focused on the use of digital technologies in mathematics teaching, or the use of GeoGebra software - Open Source program especially suitable for primary and secondary school students. The seminar is divided into the theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, students will be familiarized with all applications of GeoGebra and with the problems of Platonic bodies, whose volumes will then be derived by means of the GeoGebra dynamic means - see the practical content of the seminar.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Projection (static, dynamic)
  • Homework for Teaching - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course, which is to use selected digital technologies (specifically GeoGebra software) in mathematics education, is to transform the experience of working with this mathematical program to solve some problems of school geometry. The added value will be the development of positive attitudes of course participants to mathematics as such.
The graduate of the course will be able to solve some geometrical problems using the GeoGebra software and will be able to actively understand the role of ICT resources in teaching school mathematics.
Prerequisites
Course participants must have basic knowledge of school mathematics at the level of any secondary school graduate.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

A necessary condition for completing the course will be elaboration of a work that will solve the issue of the derivation of volumes of all Platonic bodies; the work must include a set of illustrative images created in GeoGebra.
