Course content
Students gradually acquire knowledge about all types of disabilities, their basic characteristics and potential educational approaches.

Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
  • Attendace - 24 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of special education.
Students will have the basic knowledge to differentiate particular types of disabilities and will be able to adequately use basic special education terminology. They will be equipped also with basic skills for communication with people with disabilities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Dialog, Seminar Work

Conditions for completing: - active participation in seminars, - permitted absence max. 2x in necessary cases, - presentation of current events from the lives of individuals with disabilities in the seminar - completion of the exam - test (70%) For those with an individual plan: - choose one child with special educational needs, process his case history, briefly state the type and degree of disability (characterize the impact of this type and degree of disability) and suggest free time activities for him.
