Course content
|
The main topics are: prevention and education in a multicultural society in the context of leisure (including migration and integration of immigrants and multicultural education).

Learning outcomes
|
The course covers current issues in social pedagogy. The course also offers the education and life in a multicultural society in reference to leisure (including the topic of migration and integration of immigants, including multicultural education).
After passing this subject students will know and use appropriately different types of methods of social education activities. On the basis of studying the topic concerning education in a multicultural society, students should be able to define the basic concepts of multicultural education and understand it.They will be able to understand the situation of migrants and minorities in the Czech Republic and in the world and creatively work with the following information to support intercultural education of children and the youth in different variety of facilities. Based on the movie and authentic articles they will be able to assess the environmental situation of another ethnicity, religion, etc., to understand their own feelings related to this issue and to work creatively with this understanding and information in their social and educational work.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student
Active participation in seminars (presentations of activities in pairs/groups), reading recommended literature, passing oral exam (discussion on a give topic + he/she will bring to the exam a list of literature including an article in a foreign language). In the case of a student having an Individual Study Plan, they will also prepare an essay in addition to the tasks mentioned above. The topic will be chosen in consultation with the lecturer. The deadline for submission will be during the credit week.
