Course content
1. Lecture: Psychology as a science, basic and applied psychological disciplines, basic aprroaches (biological, behaviorist, psychodynamic etc.). 2. Lecture: Psychological methods, types of psychological research. 3. Lecture: Personality, human as a biopsychosocial-spiritual being. 4. Lecture: Consciousness, un-consciousness, motivation, learning. 5. Lecture: Memory and thinking, intellect. 6. Lecture: Emotions. 7. Lecture: Psychoanalysis, analytical psychology, individual psychology. 8. Lecture: Cultural psychoanalysis, humanistic psychology. 9. Lecture: Behaviourism, neobehaviorism, leraning (classical and operant conditioning, reward and punishment). 10. Lecture: Gestaltism, principles of organisation of perceptual field. 11. Lecture: Logotherapy, daseinanalysis. 12. Lecture: Transpersonal psychology, evolution psychology. 13. Lecture: Application of psychological knowledge in pedagogic practice.

Learning outcomes
The subject Introduction to psychology introduces students a field of psychology. Students meet the definition of psychology as a scientific discipline, meet with basic and applied psychological fields and it´s relationship to other fields. Content of the subject consists of history of psychology, main topics of general and cognitive psychology. Curicculum is combined with practical examples in individual lections.
Students will be able to orient in the most important psychological theories and topics (psychology as a science, psychological methods, personality, consciousness and un-consciousness, memory and thinking, emotions, various psychological schools and theories). Acquired knowledge will students apply into practice.
Prerequisites
There are no special preconditions for this subject study.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance

Active participation in class. Pass the final exam successfully. Students with ISP must pass a final exam.
