Course content
Topics: 1.Character of media and their role in leisure time, role of new media 2. Function of mass media in today's society, changes due to the use of the Internet 3. Media production, characteristics of journalism as a profession, challenges to the future 4. Audience - basic terminology, typology of the audience, audience-media relationship; media, audience and advertisers 5. Media products (study of media products, media production and its content, meaning and interpretation) 6. The influence of media (mass media and globalization) on (not only) the public 7. Elementary media literacy education

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The subject Leisure and Media deals with mass media and their position in contemporary society and their effect on it. It focuses on media products (their kinds, content, significance and interpretation) and the study of audience who cosmumes the production mainly in their leisure time. The aim is to give students basic knowledge about how the media in the society work, the students will also gain abilities concerning the processing of usual media products (such as news). They will also gain elemenatry knowledge on media literacy education.
This subject will provide basic knowledge of the media functioning in society, but students will also acquire abilities related to elaboration of basic media products.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Passing credit test (at least 70%).
