Course content
|
Place of Philosophy of education in the system of pedagogical sciences, its subject, aims and methods of study. Basic concepts of philosophy of education. Dynamism and transcendence of man in the context of education. Historical view of the philosophy of education. Metaphysical, anthropological, gnoseological and ethical bases for pedagogical views and systems in the history of European and American pedagogy from ancient times to the present.

Learning outcomes
|
Students will learn basis of education from the perspective of basic philosophical movements developed during history. They will be able to critically judge philosophical concepts and the following pedagogical concepts, especially philosophical concepts of man and selected problems of gnoseology and ethics.
Independent assessment of the consequences of significant philosophical approcaches focused on conception of human being - for education. Competence of educational objectives providing and critical exploring.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Dialog, Seminar Work
Students will work out selected topics and will present them at seminars. Students will choose two of the proposed books and work out them in an essay. The final colloquium will be presented in the form of a presentation and discussion on assigned topics from the philosophy of education.
