Learning outcomes
|
An introduction into problems of selected social-pathological phenomena present in contemporary society (criminality, home violence, child abuse, bullying, addictions, homelessness, prostitution, racism, extremism, business with people, suicidal tendencies) with the emphasis on the context of their occurrence and the possibility of finding help when solving them. This course stands mainly (but not only) on the knowledge from the fields of sociology and social work. An introduction into main symptoms, connections and conditions of selected social-pathological phenomena and possibilities of finding help when solving them.
Students will be able to identify selected social-pathological phenomena, their connections and possible causes and be helpful at finding professional help and contacting organizations helping victims of social pathologies.
