Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the propaedeutic seminar is to acquaint students with the ways of working in a professional style. Text patterns of professional style (genres) will be discussed with emphasis on their written form - annotation, paper, essay, comparison, compilation. The other part of the seminar will be devoted to the basic assumptions associated with the spoken form of professional style - argumentation, discussion and debate. The seminar will end with a presentation of standards and requirements for writing an annual report, graduate and then bachelor's thesis. Throughout the seminar, emphasis will be placed on the correct use of standards within the professional style (citation standards, standards of the genre, etc.) and information sources (libraries, electronic resources, work with foreign literature, etc.).
