Course content
The subject introduces sociological view of education, especially in contemporary Czech (or European, Western) society. Education is seen as part of socialization in various types of environments: family, school, Church community, leisure and leisure clubs, media. The role of parents, siblings, peers, generally important other, formal authorities, impersonal agents is reflected. Education is also seen in connection with various dimensions of the social status of man in society.

Learning outcomes
To present education - generally in the context of socialization in contemporary society (including related social standards, institutions, positions, roles ...) - from the perspective of various actors and environments (family, peers, school, hobby groups ...) - in various social contexts (material conditions, geographical conditions ...)
By studying the subject you will gain - general insight into the sociology of education; - a deeper understanding of the social conditionality of education (in different contexts and environments); - ability to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills in socio-educational work
