Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Seminar Work

The course ends with an oral examination and submission of two written papers (into Moodle reflection, Moodle literature search report) Submission of 2 written papers is a prerequisite for the exam. DEADLINE: By the start date of the winter semester exam period (see schedule). ASSIGNMENT: written papers have the following assignments: 1. Structured REFLEX with the following parameters: choose any research/empirically anchored article (not a review or theoretical essay) from the following journals according to your own thematic interest: - Journal of religion and spirituality in social work (journal page with access to all volumes and issues since 1998 here, also searchable by keyword) - Social work and christianity. An international journal (database with access to volumes and issues since 2008 here, also searchable by keyword) Based on the chosen article, prepare a paper according to the following STRUCTURE: - Provide complete bibliographic information for the article according to the Departmental Manual for Writing Final Papers - What was the research question? - What theoretical concepts did the author rely on? List and briefly characterize the main findings of the concepts used. - What research design did the author use? Briefly summarize the research procedure. - Briefly summarize the research findings. - What limitations of the research does the author point out. - What are the implications of the results for social work - according to the author - in your judgement If the learner is ALREADY WORKING as a social worker, they may choose the following assignment ALTERNATIVE to their first job: - A structured reflection of at least 2 pages containing an answer to the question: What are the factors hindering the achievement of the disciplinary interests of social work in the setting of the organization where I work? - The structure will follow the following points: o A recapitulation of the main findings on the factors hindering the achievement of the disciplinary interests of social work. o Identification of those factors that occur in the workplace itself and a description of their manifestations. o Reflection on how to change/influence the situation 2. LITERATURE SEARCH REPORT: Select any topic/concept/issue specific to social work based on your own disciplinary interest and conduct a research on the context/similarities in which this topic/concept/issue is discussed in academic articles in the journal Social Work/Social Work. The UP electronic database has access to the 2012-present volumes. Use the UP search form at discovery.upol.cz to search by appropriate (keywords). Select the advanced search mode first, enter the name of the journal in the first field and use the other fields below to search for suitable keywords or combinations of keywords. In the Reflection, describe your search procedure (selected keywords and their combinations), ways to limit your search. Use the first ten of the records you have searched and attach a paragraph in your own words answering the question above.
