Course content
Specifics of persons with disabilities / disabilities ( PWD ) and other client groups, social work, incl . caregivers . Psychosocial and personal aspects of disability and life with him . Characteristics of disability vs . handicap (disease- disorder - disability -handicap ), its personal and social dimensions. Comparison of the question of terminology. Characteristics of social or socio-cultural disadvantages ; specific persons in this target group. The risk of discrimination , prejudice, social exclusion and functional illiteracy. Consulting as a service eliminates the disadvantage and social exclusion. Consulting in the social services sector and the rehabilitation or Readaptation , respectively . resocialization . Basic principles of counseling services; interview with the client , types and methods of providing services (information, po / advice, guidance , support longituidní , defending - representation - mediation , transmission, acute intervention, etc. ) . Primary - Secondary - Tertiary prevention counseling. Methodology of work counselor ( make contact , arranging meetings misunderstandings , " conveyed " legal and other standards into the language of the client , referring to the other institutions , feedback , monitoring , interaction and guiding the client further development , close cooperation with the client , family). Spatio-temporal aspects of consulting services. Consulting specifics (client and work with him) - Client with physical, sensory ( visual, hearing ) , speech ( communication ) and mental disabilities ; clients with mental disorders (psychiatric patients) ; seniors ; caring families . People with socio-cultural handicap ( ethnicity, poverty , immigration, education deficit , homelessness and other social pathology of different etiology ) . Other specific situation in consulting work - communicating and promoting the adoption of bad news , arduous client (aggression , secrecy , manipulativnost ... " unpleasant " client ), consulting traps , transference , border relationship counselor - client . Counseling and Mental trapped in counseling . Interagency communication and cooperation in counseling. Typology of selected advisory services in the helping professions : Social Work - social counseling, social counseling , counseling as an integral part of various social services , social and legal counseling , Civil Consultancy - Civil counseling centers, SOS , SON , etc. Education ( PPP , VP , SPC) , Special Education ( SPC , SVP ) government, labor market , justice , health care , etc. , spiritual sphere - a church or religious society, the role of spiritual advisor , spiritual dimension consultancy. NGOs and self-help organizations , peer counseling , Internet consulting . Crisis intervention and TKI . Methodology for processing consulting case studies. Examples from practice.

Learning outcomes

The students should be able to characterize the importance of the family in the contemporary society, justify the need of a family policy, present basic models of family policies and discuss their advantages, disadvantages and conditions, describe the contemporary Czech family policy.
