Course content

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquiant students with different modes of transport in the modern history and first of all with the phenomenon of railway. The theme will be discussed from the various point of view, e. g. railway as a part of economic, political, social and cultural history, specifically in the Czech Lands, Habsburg Monarchy and in the other European states and in other countries as well.
Students will learn about the changes of European society and culture in the "long" 19th century. They will study literature about economic, social, cultural history of this period.
Prerequisites
General knowledge of history of the 19th century and at least pre-intermediate knowledge of English or German Language.
