Course content
Content of the course in one-week long (40 hours) professional work in one of the long-time partner institutions of Department of History FF UP, e.g. Bishopric of Litoměřice (archive and library), Premonstrate monastery in Teplá (historical library), Vítěslav Novák Gymnazium in Jindřichův Hradec (professors library), Nestlé Česko s. r. o. (Zora Olomouc - register office), Archbishopric of Olomouc (collection of liturgical clothes, Prečan library, Benedictine monastery in Rajhrad (newer book funds including inheritance), convent of Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of Good - Brothers of Mercy in Brno (archive funds, historical library, collection of liturgical clothes). Practice will be organized based on time options of the guarantor of the course and cooperating institutions and will focus on one of the following areas: a. organization a cataloguing of library b. organization and inventarization of archive material c. organizing and listing of mobiliary funds (especially liturgical clothes). All these activities can be connected with presentation of processed books, documents and items.

Learning outcomes
Aim of the seminar is to introduce students to the different kinds of work with primary sources since their takeover into the memory institution until their presentation to the owner and public. Seminars will offer students a practical experience - they should process "untouched" primary source material based on what they will study and what ways of working process they will learn.
Student will be able to try specific work processes and theoretical knowledge in real environment. After the practice students will be able to organize, process, list, make available and deposit book fund, documents or material items. Students will experience problems which cannot be simulated during seminars.
Prerequisites
Willingness of the student to work in team. Ability to read neo-gothic scripts.
