Course content
Seminar topics: 1. General introduction with the subject, literature and methodics, presentation of central evidence of archive funds and collections at MV ČR website. 2. Introduction to PEvA program, relation to NAD, access, especially from the position of an operator. 3. PEvA - searching, researcher use. 4. Evidence of funds and collections - entry of evidence sheet NAP, easier examples. 5. Evidence of funds and collections - entry of evidence sheet NAP, more complicated examples, practicing. 6. Evidence of archive handbooks - types of AP, evidence sheet entry. 7. Evidence of internal changes - examples and types, evidence sheet entry. 8. Evidence of external changes - examples and types, evidence sheet entry. 9. Location - location registers, importance of location in archives, entry of location record. 10. Administrator - activities connected with access of administrator (e.g. adjustments of the database,). 11. Outputs of the program - print and internet formats. 12. Introduction to other programs used in the Czech archive science. 13. Individual entry of evidence sheet NAD and archive handbook, credit test. During the seminars, students will work with PEvA database which registers all funds and archive handbooks of institutions registering within National archive heritage in the country. Beside theoretical knowledge, emphasis will be on practical work with the program. Cours will take place in the computer room at the Department of History where each student will have an opportunity of individual work.

Learning outcomes
Theoretical introduction and seminars will provide students of an opportunity to have an idea about how evidence of archive material, archive handbooks and movement of documents in archives and cultural institutions which own, process and describe archive materials, takes place. Based on gained knowledge students should be able of individual work within PEvA program, which is fundamental program of Czech archival science and studies. Students should know general methodics and archive terminology. Aim of the seminars is to teach students to work with PEvA program and its individual parts, to show them possibilities of this program for work of historian and researcher.
Student will have knowledge of computer evidence of archive material in the Czech republic through theory but also practical work with PEvA program. Student will be able to work with PEvA program on operator level. Beside qualification for working in the archive student will have an idea about use of mentioned program, which can help him or her during historical work.
Prerequisites
No specific prerequisites. Advantage of completion of the course Archive studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works)

Attendance at least 80%. Individual entry of NAD sheet according to instructions.
