Course content
Content of the course is professional activity in duration of one work week (40 hours) at chosen memory institution, which will be secured by students. Recommended are the institutions with long-time cooperation with Department of History - different archives on all levels, including private and church ones, museums and libraries - which will enable student to join the activities of such institution - revision of funds, organization, inventarization, exhibitions and presentations. Other option are guide activities at different kinds of monuments or work for travel agency providing sight-seeing tours. Those cases are subject of discussion with guarantor of the subject. Those interested must contact the subject guarantor at least two months before the start of the internship about when and where it will take place and to specify study materials. Proof of the internship - beside signed job contract or contract about internship with chosen institution - will be especially report written by student about his or her work at the institution and newly acquired knowledge.

Work Activities
  • Homework for Teaching - 8 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 40 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 2 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Aim of the course is to enable students to gain job experience in memory institutions based on their preference.
Student will gain experience with working environment from the arrangement of the internship as such, preparation for the job till the job itself. Obligation to write a final report leads to reflexion of gained experience.
Prerequisites
Expectation of ability of the student to find and negotiate the internship in chosen memory institution and to familiarize with intended job.

Assessment methods and criteria
Final Report

Written report about internship (at least 2 pages).
