Course content
Presentation of the evolution of Church - State relations and of the evolution of church law. Forms of Church - State relations: Caesaropapism, christian dualism, Papocaesarism, State jurisdictionalism, State established religion, separation, cooperation. Evolution of State ecclesiastical law in the Czech countries. Introduction to the concordat law, position of Church subjects in diplomatic relations. Evolution of canon law: ius antiquum, ius novum, ius novissimum, ius codificatum. Juridical systems of greates christian Churches in the Czech republic (Catholic Church, Evangelical Church of Czech Brethen, Czechoslovak Hussite Church, Orthodox Church).

Learning outcomes
Presentation of the evolution of Church - State relations and of the evolution of church law. Forms of Church - State relations: Caesaropapism, christian dualism, Papocaesarism, State jurisdictionalism, State established religion, separation, cooperation. Evolution of State ecclesiastical law in the Czech countries. Introduction to the concordat law, position of Church subjects in diplomatic relations. Evolution of canon law: ius antiquum, ius novum, ius novissimum, ius codificatum. Juridical systems of greates christian Churches in the Czech republic (Catholic Church, Evangelical Church of Czech Brethen, Czechoslovak Hussite Church, Orthodox Church).
Overview about the evolution of canon law and of its codification. Evolution of Church - State relations in the Czech countries (including concrete legislation). Situation of non-Catholic Churches.
Prerequisites
Interest of students in the given topics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Exam in the form of oral colloquium in the aim to demonstrate the orientation in the presented issues.
