Course content
|
The main content of the course is reading of medieval hand written texts and practicing of theoretical knowledge. The texts in Czech, Latin and German are perused, translated and analysed, the ability to edit such texts is stressed as well as understanding of contractions and abbreviations. All is analysed on the individual texts, which usually come from the thirteenth to fifteenth centuries. Students should prepare at home.

Learning outcomes
|
After attending the course, the student should be able to read Latin, Czech and German late medieval texts of medium difficulty, which he/she may find in the Czech milieu.

Prerequisites
|
The students have to have some basics of medieval Latin paleography.
