Course content
There will be an archive research, focused on finding an old catalogue of selected library, before structuring of library. Students will make, with guidance of a lecturer, a reconstruction of original system of a library according to this old catalogue or they will choose a new system. Furthermore they will provide books with marks, stamp them, make a photos of them and store a whole library in appropriate way. Every student then individually create cca 40 catalogue records, based on photos and notes from practice, and enter them into a database. PZ

Learning outcomes
The aim of the topic, which should be a practical add-on to lecture and seminar "Theory of printed book", is to teach students principles of correct cataloguing of old prints and to teach them how to use this knowledge in practice, while working with preserved historical library. This work includes a documentation of finding conditions, choose of catalogue system and practical ordering and storing of a collection, with final cataloguing. PZ
Student will have practical skills and experiences with cataloging of old prints and he/she will also learn about other works necessary during organizing of historical collections of smaller libraries. PZ
Prerequisites
It is necessary to complete previous course (XKT1). Basic knowledge of modern era paleography is expected, along with previous or concurrent completion of course "Theory of printed book". PZ

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Students will get credits for attending meetings and a cataloguing, colloquium will be granted for a catalog records. PZ
