1. Introduction, historiography, primary sources - available databases 2. Tudor dynasty 3. Elizabethan England 4. Early Stuart England 5. Civil war, later Stuart period 6. The House of Hanover 7. England and the world 8. Religion 9. Society 10. Cultural life (theatre, literature, science) 11. Art and architecture 12. Economy 13. Final test

Learning outcomes
The course deals with history of the Great Britain in Early Modern Period. The emphasis is given on crucial events of political history that influenced not only the development in England but also in Europe. The attention is paid to religious, social, cultural and economic aspects.
A student will be well informed about basic terms concerning Early Modern England and able to put into context facts and events related to political, religious, cultural and economic history of the Great Britain.
Prerequisites
The basic knowledge of Early Modern history.
