Course content
The aim of seminars is work with material sources in Olomouc archives that will be supplemented with basic orientation in archival funds of these archives, i.e. practical knowledge of archival document. Lectures will be enriched by knowledge of various kinds of diplomatic materials from teh Czech lands. Students will be acquainted with documents of public and municipal administration, judiciary, schools, enterprises, personal funds etc. HF

Learning outcomes
The aim of lectures is to acquaint students with basic terms, methods and literature of early modern diplomatics. A student should get basic knowledge of diplomatic sources of the most important institutions in the field of public and municipal administration, a judiciary or economic organisations. This course follows the course: History of administration. The aim of seminars is to teach students to distinguish types of diplomatic sources in archival funds of various institutions, to classify them, to describe them, to compile them and to make them accessible. Students will be also familiar with various edition rules used for early modern administrative documents and the most important editions of early modern diplomatic sources. HF
Students will learn to work with sources in the archives where they should work after their graduation. HF
Prerequisites
The connection with knowledge gained in archgival courses and history of administration course and their aplication during the work with diplomatic materials. In some cases the knowledge of current script reading and basics of German language for reading materials in original. The knowledge will be proved when working with sources and writing a paper (5-10 pages). HF

Credit requirements: Attendance and writing a paper (topic: The analysis of sources and literature of written bachelor thesis). HF
