Course content
The content of seminars will be aimed at the explanation of terminology and historiography of this field of study, including problems of measures and counting of time in history (also with the outline of technical possibilities). More time will be given to work with chronological charts. The special emphasis will be put on the christian year and public holidays such as sanctoral and temporal. In a respect to counting a date of Easter, students will be familiar also with other chronological techniques connected with sun and moon cycle. Because of the explanation of causes and consequences of Julian and Gregorian calendar reforms, seminars will deal with practical conversion of everyday dates coming from sources. HF

Learning outcomes
The aim of seminars is to familiar students with basic terms, literature and the development of historical chronology. A graduate of this course should be able to convert dates, founded in historical sources, according to the christian calendar etc. with the help of various chronological handbooks and to distinguish chronological information. HF
A student should primarily manage to convert various types of historical dates (accroding to the christian calendar etc.)and to be familiar with other chronological information, in ways of their using. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Active class participation. Credit requirements - the correct historical date conversion, Oral colloquium - the explanation of some chronological terms and their broader context. HF
