Learning outcomes
The course is concerned with the main trends of history-writing about the 19th century. The purpose of the course is to acquaint students with the most recent trends of historiography of 19th century including their development and roots in the 19th and 20th centuries. There will be also introduced great figures of world's and czech historiography beginning with positivism to postmodern historiography. The course will be based upon reading of sellected works which reflect the most important changes in research of the 19th century, and discussion of new approaches of current historiography and its potential future development. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with development and recent state of historical research, to prepare them for further study, writing a master's thesis, and for possible studies abroad. This course was established under the terms of the project Innovation of Historical Sciences Studies at Palacký University, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0025. HF

Prerequisites
Knowledge of the 19th century history on the level of Bachelor graduate. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

Active participation in the classes, obligatory readings for each class. HF
