Course content
The course consists of a theoretical and a practical part. 1) Within the theoretical part, students are acquainted with the basic principles of project management: a) what a project is, what are the basic principles of its functioning, what are the rules for good project management b) project preparation and realization in terms of its contents c) preparation and management of the project budget d) basics of human resources management e) benefitial project administration f) how to prepare and write a quality project application 2) The practical part enables students to apply the theoretical knowledge. Students sample project management in both individual and group projects: - Preparation of a project application for the group project. - Realization and evaluation of the group project. - Writing a project application for the individual project.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
The course aims to acquaint MA students with the basic principles of project management with respect to historical disciplines. The course reflects the fact that projects represent a common part of present-day practice in the field and in the institutions working in the fields related to historical disciplines. Organizing conferences, preparing exhibitions, digitizing historical collections etc., all that represent projects, which must be adequatly prepared and subsequently well-managed in order to fulfil the project's goals. Nowadays these comptences are growing in importance also due to the fact that many of these activities are carried out in the framework of independent projects financed from various grants. This course was developed in the framework of the project "Innovation of the Studies of the Historical Sciences at Palacký University", reg. no. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0025.
Student knows the basics of project management, can prepare small- and medium-sized projects and carry them out. Student knows the basics of managing the contents, budget as well as human resources of the project. Student is able to prepare a project application.
Prerequisites
The course is meant for master degree students of historical disciplines.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

Student must attend lectures and seminars and fulfil given assignments: - Writing of project application for a group project which is prepared together by all attenders of the course. - Realization of the above-mentioned, model group project. - Writing a project application for an individual project.
