Course content
Students signed in STAG will be publicly appealed (at History department´s website or on a notice board) for individual arrangement as regards time and a day of this course. There are many possibilities (every Tuesday evening 20.00-22.00 and every Wednesday 8.00-18.30) and students should count with regular participation. A number of classes is not given except for the training necessary for participation of this seminar. A student has to hand in a given number of catalogue reports. Firstly, students will be trained in using a programme (on Tuesday) and then they will catalogue 120 records of various books (old prints, literature of the 19th and 20th century written in many languages, journals etc.) HF

Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to teach students to catalogue books in a special library database Clavius that is used by the majority of state and city libraries in the Czech Republic. The seminar is not only the oportunity to get to know interesting books (the new as the old ones), but also the possibility how to improve the qualification for being better employed after the graduation of the university. The course was established under the terms of the project Innovation of Historical Sciences Studies at Palacký University, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0025. HF
A student will learn to catalogue books in a programme Clavius. HF
Prerequisites
12 students from Bachelor studies of single and double History programme or Archival Science: a course B, for the others: a course C. HF

Assessment methods and criteria

Active class participation, completing and handing in 120 catalogue records of a good quality. There are 4 credits for a credit and a colloquium. HF
