Course content
|
At the beginning of a semester (more info at the department´s website), an information meeting will take place in a seminar room of archival science, where students will gain more information about detailed programme of this seminar, organisation staff and they will also get study materials and literature. At the end of a semester (more info at the department´s website, probably during holidays), this course will be held in a suitable manse of Litoměřice diocese where students will be accommodated for the whole time. During the stay, students will learn to catalogue books and work in a cataloguing programme, then they will be familiar with cataloguing old prints of a parish library and at the end, students will store catalogued books in a proper way. Some excursion will be included. HF

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of a seminar is to teach students to catalogue old prints in a parish library Jiříkov near Rumburk. At the beginning students will be fimiliarized with a brief development of this library fund and especially with rules of cataloguing. Theoritical knowledge will be then applied to making a catalogue in a special programme, in which students will learn to work. Another goal of this seminar is to put this parish library into broader context that is deepened also by excursions around the Sluknov Hook and its way of the cross (see http://www.rumburk.farnost.cz/krizove-cesty/index.php). The course was established under the terms of the project Innovation of Historical Sciences Studies at Palacký University, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0025. HF
A student will learn to catalogue old prints and gain practical knowledge with a classification of library sources. HF

Prerequisites
|
7 students from Bachelor studies of single and double History programme or Archival Science: a course B, for the others: a course C. HF
