Course content
It is a part of the bachelor state exam of Archival Science which is oral and is examined by an examining board according to valid study directives. A student gets a question based on a previously known list, has time for a preparation and then answers it before an examining board. Questions include a basic terminology and information of both disciplines, they also reflect their history. In the case of diplomatics, questions aim at documents that come from the Czech royal office and their development, then documents of municipal, church and patrimonial administration. Paleographic questions concentrate on individual periods important for the development of the Latin script, especially modern period, which includes modern and humanistic branch of the script and its print variants. Learning outcomes
The aim of this course, which is a part of the bachelor state exam of Archival Science, is to check the knowledge of paleography and diplomatics of a future graduate. Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

A successfull passing of this part of the bachelor state exam of Archival Science includes student´s explanation of a topic on a required level and his ability to answer questions asked by an examiner or other members of an examining board. HF
