Course content
It is a part of the bachelor state exam of Archival Science which is oral and is examined by an examining board according to valid study directives. A student gets a question based on a previously known list, has time for a preparation and then answers it before an examining board. Questions include a basic terminology, information and history of codicology, epigraphy, sphragistic, heraldry, numismatics, genealogy, historical metrology and chronology. Moreover the exam focuses on inner and outer characteristics of a particular source (manuscript, inscription, seal, coat of arms, means of payment) and on the rules of describing it. PZ

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course, which is a part of the bachelor state exam of Archival Science, is to check the knowledge of all auxiliary historical sciences, except for paleography and diplomatics, which are examined separately. Questions include a basic terminology, information and history of codicology, epigraphy, sphragistic, heraldry, numismatics, genealogy, historical metrology and chronology. Oral exam

A successfull passing of this part of the bachelor state exam of Archival Science includes student´s explanation of a topic on a required level and his ability to answer questions asked by an examiner or other members of an examining board. PZ
