Reflection of religious and ideological ideas can be seen in different forms of burial practices. It is possible to consider them as non-/standard reflection of ritualized reality closely connected to social hierarchy and categorized rituals and ceremonies. Course will focus on burial, resp. development of burial rite from paleolithic until Early Middle Ages with introduction of attributes and models of burial traditions of individual cultures in different regions and cultural areas. Course will follow close connection between ideology and burial practices, anomalous or otherwise specific or interesting cased and phenomenons with attempt about their interpretation. Burial rite is seen as reflection of social-economical and ideological, resp. religious reality or rather ritualized reality or ideology. In archaeological sources it reflects the best the perception of the world in its many aspects (religion, belief in the afterlife, hierarchization and differentiation of society etc.).
