Course content
1st Familiarization with program, factors of its finishing, basic literature (Zeman). 2nd - 3rd Basic written sources to time of Marobud, Catvald and Vannia - Velleius, Paterculus, Tacitus (Zeman). 4th - 5th Written sources to time of Marcomanni war - Cassius Dio, Historia Augusta, Hérodiános (Zeman). 6th - 7th Antiquity geographers as source of knowledge about intervence of Romans to Central Europe - Strabo, Claudios Ptolemaios (Koucká). 8th - 9th Roman text - its basic characteristic, typology, analysis of text on stone of grave (Koucká). 10th - 11th Roman itinerars and maps, mainly Tabula Peutingeriana (Koucká). 12th - 13rd Iconographical sources - coins, victory column (mainly Traian column) (Koucká).

Learning outcomes
The main target is familiarization with basic written and iconographical sources to issue of Romans in Central Europe. The main accent is on work with sources, its analysis and critical comment.
Student is familiarized with work with primary sources and professional literature to theme of subject. Student will critise and analyse.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Dialog

Oral conversation, tasking of professional written study in scale of five pages, presence in subject at least 90 %. (1) Excursion (lecture, seminar): 26 hours = 1 credit; (2) Preparation and tasking of written professional study: 25 hours = 1 credit, (3) Preparation to Colloquium: 25 hours = 1 credit.
