Course content
Type A - Word and image in culture of Postmedieval Period Seminar focuses on different aspects of postmedieval culture, mainly strait connection of word and image in pre-modern society. Seminars pays attention to selected topics (letterpress, emblematics, iconoclasm, ceremonies, etc). On basic of selected theme are shown forms of interpretation of written and image sources. Thematics sphere: 1st Letterpress. 2nd From Confession to Catechism. 3rd Luteran graphic as a form of religious propagace. .... Type B - Cultural history of Postmedieval Period I. The main target of seminar is familiar students with the most important phenomenons of cultural history of Postmedieval Period, actual notice possibilities of sources individual character and with basic and foreign literature. Topics are very colourful and themes correspond with key incidents and processes of Postmedieval Period, which are implanted to large culture-social and political frame. Thematic sphere 1st Communication revolution in Postmedieval Period. 2nd Europe and Ottoman Empire. 3rd Europe and New World. .... Type C - Historiography of Postmedieval Period Thematic sphere: 1st Introduction. 2nd Myth of origin in medieval and postmedieval historiography (Czech, Moravia). 3rd Myth of origin in medieval and postmedieval historiography (Hungary, Poland and Prussia). .....

Learning outcomes
Seminars focuse on major problems of history and of basic professional literature, represent the most important sources to selected problems. Students choose according to their interest from actualy order of this theme of seminar; for example, type (A) - Word and its image in culture of Postmedieval Period; (B) - Cultural history of Postmedieval Period I.; (C) Historiography in Postmedieval Period.
Students are gaining detailed information about theme.
Prerequisites
Basic orientation in history of Postmedieval Period.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Attend entrance turitorial - 1 hour: acquainted with content and form study of subject. Attend at running tutorial: two seminars about selected chapters of themes from early postmedieval seminar; 2 seminars focuse on presentation students paper. Consultations - two consultations at the beggining and in during the semester at least - determination of procedure of individual studies and establish tasks. When student need, he can establish more consultations. Student can select form of consultation with lecturers - personal, by email, skype, facebook etc.
