Learning outcomes
The practice focuses on material culture of early and high Middle Ages and of Postmedieval Period. Besides the artefact theory, the archaeological sources, their transformations and variability of purpose and use, the production processes and technologies are also discussed. A part of the practice focuses on the problems of crafts in both towns and rural areas and their traces in archaeological sources. The artefactual sources ceramics, metal, wood, leather, stone are among the topics that are discussed more thoroughly in the practice. The metodic processes of work with archaeological sources, their analysis, description, structures synthesis and interpretation are demonstrated. Besides general morphological and typological traits of ceramics, the problems of existence of regionally diverse ceramics in Bohemia and Moravia and the question of ceramic production distribution are also discussed. The iconography of specific ceramic products (chimney ceramics and tiles) is also among the thematic topics of the practice.
Good orientation in the area of study.
Prerequisites
Basic orientation in Middle Ages, Postmedieval Period and medieval archaeology is required. The knowledge of the area of study acquired in the "Artefaktuální archeologie I V" (Artefactual archaeology I to V) subject of the bachelor study is also necessary.
