Course content
Each of the teachers will give 2-3 thematic lectures; the following teachers will participate in the course: assoc. prof. Halás, assoc. prof. Szczyrba, assoc. prof. Toušek and assoc. prof. Ziener from University of Klagenfurt (in English language). Each of the teachers will focus on selected topics on border areas (history, theory of border areas, delimitation, cross-border cooperation, case studies of good practice, application etc.).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the issues of trans-border cooperation in its theory and methods as well as practical case studies from the Czech Republic and abroad.
The students acquire basic knowledge on cross-border cooperation in Europe, on the theoretical concept of border areas, their permeability, methods of research of border areas and case studies of cross-border cooperation.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of border regions and euroregions.

Written exam, Seminar Work

Knowledge within the scope of lectures and specified literature.
