Learning outcomes
|
During the seminars the students will discuss concrete theoretical problems and theoretical concepts. Each student will present one theoretical text and will try to interpret its main thoughts (within context of other theories). The emphasis is on understanding theoretical texts and on ability to put them into context. Part of the seminar will be the analysis of viewed productions with emphasis on correct application of technical terminology.
Student will be able to characterize main approaches of theatre theory from the critical point of view. - to interpret and critically analyze texts on the theory of theater, - basic theater-theoretical concepts, - to apply theoretical concepts and terminology in the analysis of theatrical productions, - to include specific theatrical manifestations in the category of theater component, - to define work with theater character.

Prerequisites
|
Basic knowledge of the literary theories (at least at basic secondary-school level) and terms known from the course focused on the introduction to theatre studies. Completed courses: Introduction to theatre studies, Introduction to theatre theory 1. Seminar of drama analysis.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Seminar Work
Attendance in the seminars (75%), knowledge of basic literature, students' presentations, active participation on seminar, submission of preposition papers, preparation to each lesson.
