Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce selected approaches discussed in the contemporary theatre-theoretical discourse. Students will learn to formulate their ideas in postdramatic theatre, performance studies and staging aspects of theater and contemporary structural approach to performance analysis. Besides that, they will study how issues of interculturalism, intermediality and politics of body are related to theatre and performance studies. This course is taught in Czech language.
Student will be able to: - characterise or reflect contemporary theatre and performance theory, - reflect of contemporary situation in theatre and performance and dance, - discuss problems in contemporary staging practice and its analysis, - discuss how theatrical concepts and notion of performativity is used in social sciences and humanities.
Prerequisites
The knowledge of crucial terms from the area of theatre theory and so called classical theories. Completed courses: Introduction to theatre studies, Introduction to theatre theory 1, Introduction to theatre theory 2.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam, Student performance

Pass the final exam, to prove the knowledge of the themes explained during the lectures and the knowledge of basic literature. Active participation on seminar, preparation of preposition papers from scholarly texts.
