Course content
The lecture is a historical explanation about the origin of dramaturgy, its place in dramatical structure and also about proceeding of dramatical inscenated formation of dramaturgy. The content of course is the introduction of basic terminology and principle of dramaturgical conception in the theatres (relation between dramaturgist, director and scenographer, creation of a ?., cooperation with author and interpreter, dramaturgical edits), also of the repertory and small stage theatres dramaturgy. Specific practical dramaturgy and its philosophical basis will be demonstrated on the resumes of the particular theatres (ex. Činoherní klub, Městské divadlo Zlín, HaDivadlo, Divadlo Husa na provázku, ad.). Students will create a fictive dramaturgical plan of one chosen type of theatre according to the lecture. Themes: 1. About the origin of dramaturgy 2. The principle basis of theatre dramaturgy 3. The role of dramaturgist in theatre structure 4. From artistic program to creative dramaturgy 5. Formation of ?. conception 6. Dramaturgy as a marginal section 7. Dramaturgy as a artistic creation 8. Dramaturgy in repertory theatre 9. Dramaturgy in the author and studio scenes 10. Learning outcomes
The aim of lecture is the introduction of basic terminology and principle of dramaturgical conception in the theatres. It includes the historical explication about the origin, its place in dramatical structure and also in proceeding of dramatical inscenated formation of dramaturgy. The content of this course is focused on dramaturgical model of both repertory and small stage theatres. The lecture connect the historical and theoretical explanation with the examples from practice. Students use the knowledge by working on fictive dramaturgical project for specific type of theatre.
Students can integrate dramaturgy into dramatical structure and process of formation a dramatical inscenation. They are able to differentiate the dramaturgical tendencies in particular types of the theatres. They can evaluate the contemporary dramaturgical conceptions and apply gained cognition effectively. Students can also work on dramaturgical practice.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of drama theory and of world and Czech dramas.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance

Preparation of a model dramaturgy. Oral exam: thematic knowledges and knowledge of a basic literature.
